TBDP S2:E5 Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

This episode features Dr. Wilton Triggs, a Plastics and Reconstructive Surgeon currently practicing in Ohio. A graduate Meharry Medical College, Dr. Triggs applied for and earned an extremely competitive spot in the Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery Residency program at the University of South Florida. He shares his journey, including the setbacks he encountered while applying to medical school. He talks about selecting a residency program that you vibe with and how to tell if an institution is a good fit.

Dr. Triggs discusses his current practice as a hospital-employed surgeon. He also breaks down the differences between a board certified plastic surgeon and a cosmetic surgeon. He tells some horror stories of medical tourism and some of the bad outcomes he has encountered from patients who received subpar plastic surgery.
