TBDP S2:E13 Obstetrician Treating High-Risk Pregnancies and Health Care Disparities

This episode features Dr. Eddie Miller, an Obstetrician/Gynecologist who specialized in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. He is a rising star in the world of academic medicine. He was a brand-new intern during my last year at Howard University College of Medicine, however, I still remember his passion for the field. After finishing residency, Dr. Miller completed an extremely competitive fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. In this episode, Dr. Miller talks about the significance of practicing in Louisville, a city that has seen so much trauma directed toward people and women of color. He enjoys taking time with his patients to alleviate their fears during difficult pregnancies.

In addition to detailing his pathway to medicine, Dr. Miller briefly discusses the effects of COVID19 during pregnancy. This episode is sure to inspire everyone who listens ins some form or fashion. Are you or someone you know considering a career in obstetrics and gynecology? Are you concerned about the healthcare disparities surrounding childbirth in the black and brown communities? If so, this episode is for you!

TBDP is a volunteer passion project with the goal of inspiring all who listen. In-house music and audio production, so any ideas for improvements or suggestions for future guests are welcome.
