Professional Photographer and SNMA President Finds the Perfect Match | TBDP S3E12

As we continue to celebrate Women’s History Month, we are celebrating extra hard this week! Congratulations to Student-Doctor Osose Oboh on matching to the Internal Medicine residency program of her dreams. We were privileged to speak with her and listen to her journey . After working as a professional photographer, she completed a Masters degree in Public Health. She attended Michigan State University for medical school where she was able to complete her clinical rotations in Flint, Michigan. She was able to see the fallout from the Flint Water Crisis first hand and treat the lasting effects seen in the community.

Dr. Oboh talks about her leadership roles with the Student National Medical Association. As the President-Elect and not the National President, she worked to pivot the SNMA’s Annual Medical Education Conference to a digital platform. She talks about the opportunities available within the organization. The AMEC is continuing this year (April 1-4th) and there is still time to register: https://snma.org/page/AMEC2021Attendee

As an avid artist, Dr. Oboh still makes time to practice her craft. She uses photography to capture beautiful images from her travels. She also creates photographic stories of her experiences and encourage diversity in healthcare.

TBDPis a volunteer passion project with the goal of inspiring all who listen. In-house music and audio production, so any ideas for improvements or suggestions for future guests are welcome.
