Finding and Becoming a Good Mentor w/ The Tour For Diversity in Medicine
This month we are sharing our platform, and sharing the mic with our friends at the Tour 4 Diversity in Medicine. Join us for an incredible conversation on leadership!! There are gems for folks at all levels of training, from medical student to attending.
Conceived by former medical student leaders, the Tour for Diversity in Medicine (T4D) is a grassroots effort to educate, advise, and inspire future underrepresented minority health professionals with terminal degrees in medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy. T4D seeks to bring pre-health enrichment activities to campuses and health systems around the nation. With its face-to-face programming, T4D provides groups of unexposed students a chance to learn from and meet with our Mentors at their home institutions and without any financial burden.
Having expanded significantly through virtual platforms, T4D provides initial and honest exposure to careers in healthcare and opportunities for their educational and professional advancement. Our T4D Mentors are its true strength – included are young practicing physicians (allopathic, osteopathic, and podiatric), dentists, and pharmacists, as well as medical and dental students and pre-health advisors, from different educational backgrounds, with different specialty interests and with a variety of dual degrees. All have inspiring stories and are keenly invested in mentoring and reaching students on a personal level. Visit us at www.tour4diversity.org and follow us @tour4diversity on twitter and instagram.
